Atrato - 2025
2025-10-15
The Atrato River runs through a Colombian territory shaped by centuries of extraction, from colonial gold mining to the minerals that now feed global electronic technologies. In 2016, the river was recognised as a legal entity with rights of its own, yet mining, toxic contamination and environmental destruction continue to threaten it. Digital processes, archival materials, field recordings and traditional songs from riverside communities present the Atrato as both a living subject and a witness to histories of colonialism, resistance and technological progress.
